New British exclusive carbon furniture brand to debut at The Elite London
A new range of super-cool, ultra-thin carbon furniture will launch at The Elite London Event taking place 11th-13th May 2017 at Biggin Hill Airport. Inspired by simplistic structural forms and made possible by the use of ultra-high-tech carbon composite materials, the Essence of Strength range of mesmerising furniture will have its British debut at this exclusive event.
The contemporary, gravity defying furniture uses natural curves to deliver inherent strength while the advanced composite materials enable cantilevered forms that defy normal design parameters to support varying human postures. The designs are a true engineering accomplishment, delivering simplistic, luxurious elegance.
Created by the British industrial designer, Kristian Arens, the collection comprises a Chaise Longue and the first in a series of Aero Benches. The products contrast novel carbon fibre technologies with hand crafted leather and wood additions. The furniture has been craftsmen for the custom finishes.
Taking structural inspiration from natural organic forms, these highly engineered designs use a complex and intricate alignment of uni-directional carbon threads to create fluidity of shape whilst ensuring incredible strength, super-thin profiles, and feather-like weight.
Whilst most current furniture designers and manufacturers use carbon predominately as an aesthetic and decorative feature, the highly experienced duo behind Essence of Strength have, for the first time, produced a range of furniture that embraces and celebrates the extraordinary structural properties of carbon fibre, which would not be practical, if at all possible, in more traditional materials.
Offering a turnkey service from concept through design and engineering to manufacture and delivery, Essence of Strength is an exciting new British company, manufacturing in the UK and working with interior designers, architects, corporate clients and private commissions.
